Blockbuster Trade for Randy Moss

Aliquippa made a blockbuster trade in acquiring highly talented WR Randy Moss for the 2010 FAA season. This was a key acquisition for the Rabid Ghosts who were stacked at RB and although they were primarily shopping Steven Jackson they traded Chris Johnson and a 3rd round 2011 pick to the FAA expansion Las Vegas Torpedos in exchange for Randy Moss and a 1st round pick 2011 pick. The Las Vegas franchise is not expected to make the post-season for a couple years while he gets adjusted to the FAA, whereas Aliquippa put what appears to be the proper pieces in place to make a serious run at the 2010 Fabio Cup. Randy Moss is going to be targeted early and often by Brett Favre this season starting in 2 days on MNF. Get your popcorn ready! Moss is likely to build an instant chemistry and could easily finish the season as the top WR in the league. Why did Aliquippa trade away CJ2k you ask? Because he could. Some may look at this as the stupidest trade in FAA history although it could very well be perceived as a brilliant move if the Rabid Ghosts end up hoisting the Fabio Cup in late December. The Quip franchise has been 1-2 games shy of making the playoffs the past three seasons finishing with a 6-7 record each year. This trade should put them over that hump. It has been well noted that a few FAA owners voiced their unpleasantries with this trade... they are probably just jealous as they did not have the gonads to make a strong attempt to acquire CJ2k themselves. Don't be ridiculous people, Randy Moss is a stud. This all can be revisited as the 2010 year concludes but for now fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the ride! If Aliquippa falls short of the 2010 Fabio Cup Championship Zuc would have failed yet should have no problem putting themselves in contention yet again in 2011.

Sewickley and Aliquippa - Relocation Wager

This has been agreed upon by both parties.

Our Rabid Ghosts logo currently has a "Q" (Quip) with the Rabid Ghost - in the event that we relocate to Hopewell I have consulted with our marketing department and they are against the proposed wager. With this being said I would need to depart ways with them and hire E-Siv Marketing to design a fitting logo representing the potential relocation to Hopewell. Can you send a few samples over in a work order proposal? Not sure where to go here... would we need to change the team colors as well? I really like orange so potentially a mix of orange, black, & silver while maintaining the Rabid Ghost mascot? Be creative and give me options.

I agree to this wager being based on a season sweep. And if no sweep this year, we carry over this bet into the the upcoming years with the first team to sweep the other during the REGULAR season the swept team relocates permanently to Hopewell.

Upon relocation the losing team that is relocated to Hopewell is bound on a gag order not to reference the other as being Hopewell, the other Hopewell, or any such similarity.

The reloacation would take effect the season immediately following the regular season sweep. For example, if Sewickley sweeps Aliquippa in the 2010 regular FAA season the Rabid Ghosts would become the Hopewell Rabid Ghosts effective for the 2011 FAA season.

The non-relocating franchise would be responsible for 40% of the cost of expired merchandise and cover 25% of the restocking fee for the newly relocated franchise team shop. The expired merchandise (former team location) would also be sold on the opponents team shop immediately following the conclusion of the sweep and for the entire following season.

2010 Aliquippa Rabid Ghosts 15 Man Roster

The 2010 FAA (ForevAA) draft just concluded and although I surely did miss being there in person it was uneventful regardless. However, we MUST do the 2011 draft in Vegas next year!!

Here is the roster heading into the season:

QB - Sam Bradford (10.12)
QB - Joe Flacco (Keeper)
QB - Ben Roethlisberger (3.11)
RB - Chris Johnson (Keeper)
RB - Steven Jackson (Keeper)
RB - Chester Taylor (7.07)
RB - Peyton Hillis (9.07)
WR - Steve Smith (NYG) ( Keeper)
WR - Dez Bryant (2.12)
WR - Pierre Garcon (3.07)
WR - Laurent Robinson (10.05)
TE - Zach Miller (OAK) (6.06)
TE - Jermaine Gresham (8.06)
PK - David Buehler (10.11)
DEF - Cincinnati Bengals (Keeper)

We failed to make the Fabio Cup playoffs in 2009 with a 6-7 regular season record. Although we held our heads high as we had the 2nd most difficult schedule having a 92.5 avg points against per game. Only the 4-9 Jackers had worse luck giving up 96.8 ppg against in '09. To put this in perspective the top two teams in the East (known as the Least) had 74.8 ppg against (Imperial) and 78.2 ppg against (Pittsburgh Ballers) and the top team in the West yielded 77.6 ppg against. The top team in the Central had 84.1 ppg against which happens to be the 2-time defending Fabio Cup FAA Champion, Sewickley F-Bombs.

In unrelated news, the Imperial Maulers, who backed into the playoffs in '09 by having the easiest schedule only giving up 972 points on the season, a league low 74.77 ppg against, and the only team to give up less than 1,000 points, does not appear to have the 2010 talent to repeat this fortune. They are arguably one of the bottom three teams heading into the season (New York, Pittsburgh).

Polish up my ring.... Quip will be FAA Champs in 2010!!!

Mmmmm.... Toasted!

Does the latest FAA expansion team have what it takes to make it in this league? Dan Majernik and his Las Vegas Torpedos have been begging to get into the FAA for nearly a decade and now that they have finally been added there is not much coming from the streets of Indiana, PA... errr I mean Las Vegas... errr... Aliquippa is even closer to Las Vegas than the Torpedos are... C'mon Man!!!!

"What happens in Vegas, stays in Indiana, PA?"

Quip Inks CJ2K To New Deal

Great news out of Aliquippa. Looks like Titans RB Chris Johnson and the team have
agreed to a new deal that will make both sides happy.

Link: http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2010/07/chris-johnson-tennessee-titans-reach-deal-in-time-for-training-camp/1

Clipped from the USA Today story:

Jason La Canfora reported on NFL Network Monday that the 24-year-old running back
and the Rabid Ghosts have worked out a one-year deal in order to prevent a holdout.

Specifics of the deal are not yet known.

While Profootballtalk.com reports that the deal has not yet been signed, the
arrangement will reportedly provide for more money in 2010 without adding more
years to his contract, which expires in 2012.

FAASPN.com reports that both sides are reviewing the new deal and that it would make
some of the maximum $2.5 million in escalator clauses available sooner than his
rookie contract provided for.

This is what we'd hoped would happen but I'll be honest, I was getting a little
worried this might get ugly. It's great news they've got this resolved. It doesn't
sound like it's officially signed yet but everyone seems optimistic. In a summer
with a lot of questions, looks like we've answered one of the bigger ones with
whether Chris Johnson and the Ghosts could come to an agreement.

Central Wager Between Quip and Lebo for 2010 Season

Zuc and AquaBob have agreed on a wager for the 2010 season. They are betting $10 on each head-to-head matchup and a $10 per game win differential throughout the regular 13-game season. Therefore when Quip sweeps the Outlaws and ends up with 4 more regular season wins Mt Lebo will be paying Zuc $60.00

Memo to Bob: Get a job! You'll need it to come up with the losing cash.

Make A Kiss Foundation

The FAA surely does hand the Albany Patroons ample grief about his failures and historcical lows during the season but we all need to hold our heads and hearts high on Raud's Make A Kiss Foundation that is sending smiles, sharing happiness, and spreading love across the world!!!

Memo to Raud: We love you man!
The Rabid Ghosts filled a much needed void by acquiring RB Steven Jackson from the Sewickley F-Bombs who will line up in the Quip backfield with phenom Chris Johnson in what could be the most explosive backfield duo in the FAA this season. Aliquippa gave up their 1st and 5th round picks in the 2010 draft and received the 2nd round pick from Sewickley in addition to Jackson. The Quiptown team is looking much more aligned to be extremely competitive with Flacco, CJ, Jackson, the young Steve Smith, and the Bengals defense. Could the HYLMN Tour be on the streets of Franklin Avenue?

With this move Albany all but surely moves down to the 4th spot in the Central.
